Cheder Vision

Our Cheder is Jewish school that values every child and aims to develop their spiritual, intellectual, creative and social potential in all the children who attend. We aim to inspire with a love of Judaism, and a love of learning achieved through a variety of inspiring lessons, enlivening external teachers presenting to the children (shows, stories, activities) and family events (such as the Cheder Families Shabbaton where the children have an opportunity to present to the parents).

We encourage children to explore and celebrate their Jewish heritage. The children's Cheder experience is enriched with stimulating Jewish studies, an understanding and love of Israel and practicing Jewish traditions. We aim to develop independent learners who possess the knowledge and skills to engage positively with the world around them. We want our children to enjoy being at Cheder.

The Cheder at Woodside Park synagogue nurtures pupils of all needs and abilities. We maintain an inclusive and supportive environment which encourages all pupils to achieve their full potential.

Jewish Ethos

As a vibrant Jewish Cheder teaching children from a variety of Jewish backgrounds we are committed to the practice of Orthodox Judaism in a modern setting taught in an enjoyable and accessible manner.

By the time our Cheder students leave us, we hope they will be equipped with:

- A strong Jewish identity and pride in their faith.

- Some teaching with regard to moral values and the importance of charity.

- A wide range of skills, knowledge and understanding of Judaism.

- A genuine desire to continue their Jewish learning and practice.

The play was performed by Aidel Hanovitch's class yesterday each child was a different character in the purim story and the children had to guess who they were. This was done in the form of a riddle said by each child.
