A Walk to View Salmon and Stadia, Canals and Candy

Tour through the historic industrial complexes of Hackney Wick and Fish Island. The walk also takes you along the tow path that skirts the Olympic site area ending on the Greenway with a marvellous view of the Olympic Park where you will see the completed Olympic Stadium, Aquatics Centre, the Orbit and the other stadia behind them.

A hardy bunch of 50 people from Barnet & Woodside Park braved the drizzle on Monday and enjoyed an imaginative and challenging Treasure Hunt in the wilds of Totteridge & Whetstone. Hopefully, we’ll have got the rain out of the way, so we can enjoy our next Young Families event:The Annual Shavuot Ice Cream Party on Sunday 27th May (1st day Shavuot).

Cheder Year 4 Purim Assembly

Our Year 4 Purim play which was performed by Aidel Hanovitch's class yesterday each child was a different character in the purim story and the children had to guess who they were. This was done in the form of a riddle said by each child.

We made a "pop up" museum, the girls brought in items that illustrated some aspects of their own lives, or some items that they had collected. They all displayed them, and then we had a chance to look at everyone elses exhibits. At the end of the evening, the "Museum" closed for business!

WPS Brownies Visit Barnet Countryside Centre

The Brownies made a return visit to the Barnet Countryside centre last Monday, where they were able to do some exciting autumn related activities. They took part in a bug hunt race, made acorn necklaces,
a greetings card using natural materials, tried their hand at stone sculpture and also free form art work again using natural materials found in the autumn. They were complemented on their creativity as well as their good behaviour!

This year we had our annual family bbq for those in our beaver and cub groups, together with their families. Amazingly it managed not to rain........and we had a fantastic turnout, with over 100 beavers, cubs and their parents. We held the bbq with our sister group – 19th Southgate, and all had a good time – even those who were doing the cooking. We took the opportunity to thank all those people in the community who have helped over the past year.

Grandtots meets every Monday morning from 10am until 11.30am on the 1st floor of the Community Centre. If you are a grandparent with a toddler and are looking for a fun morning for both you and your grandchild, please come along. We have a lot of toys and healthy snacks to entertain the toddlers and the grandparents can enjoy a catch up over a cup of coffee. We even welcome parents to come and join us too!
