The Woodside Park Synagogue Choir

The Choir was formed nearly four years ago and is conducted by a member of the community in partnership with the Chazan. The choir enhances the services through interesting melodies and harmonies and, most importantly, by strengthening the meaning of prayers through music.

The Choir has fourteen members and, perhaps uniquely, all choristers are members of Woodside Park Synagogue; a true community choir. The choir rehearses throughout the year on a weekly basis and performs at a variety of services. These include occasional Shabbat services (2 or 3 per year), Selichot (last year for the first time at Bushey Synagogue), Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Yom Hatzmaut/Yom Hazikaron, bar/bat mitzvahs, torah dedications and weddings. Additionally the choir has given performances at the Barbican Centre Art Gallery and "Simcha on the Square". Its repertoire consists of many traditional settings of the United Synagogue liturgy and arrangements by Stephen Glass.

The choir is a friendly, hard working and dedicated part of the community. If you are interested in joining our choir then please email
