Visitors Welcomed

Below is a letter that appeared in the JC 28th October 2011 (30 Tishri 5772) written by one of our visitors over Succot.

The JC is a fine newswpaper, but its tales of woe miss the fact that Britain's Jewish community is impressive by any standards. Visiting London for Succot, my family attended Woodside Park synagogue.

We were welcomed by a synagogue committed to Torah and led by an enthusiastic Rabbi. We were repeatedly honoured by the friendly warden (a term that I had to translate for my American wife).

In the spirit of Succot, the congregation treated us as valued guests. We were made to feel that we were old friends, not visitors. We could not have been more fortunate.
